State Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology is located in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. It is hardly 18 kms from the city centre and is well connected to Tiruchirappalli through road facilities. Both buss stand and railway station are quite close to the city centre.
State institute, previously known as Food Craft Institute (FCI), was established in the year 1981 by the government of India. The institute is affiliated to National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology and jointly sponsored by Govt. of India and Govt. of Tamil Nadu.
The college offers B.Sc. in Hospitality and Hotel Administration which is a 3 year full time programme with 95 seats. Other courses offered are Craftsmanship course in Food & Beverage Service, Craftsman course in Food, Diploma in Front Office, Diploma in Food & Beverage Service, Diploma in Bakery & Confectionary and Diploma in Food Production.
