Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College, also known as MGM Medical College, is an Indian medical school established in 1961 affiliated to Kolahan University, Chaibasa.It is one of the three medical colleges in Jharkhand which are compltely government run.
The college is recognised by the Medical Council of India [MCI]. It is situated in the outskirts of Jamshedpur near Dimna. The students are admitted through an All India pre medical test CBSE PMT held by CBSE and Jharkhand states` combined entrance test, [JCECE]. The college`s hospital is located in Sakchi. This hospital caters to the poor and needy people in and around Jamshedpur.Currently there is post graduate education in Anatomy(MS), Physiology(MD) and Pharmacology(MD). Postgraduate diploma is in radiodiagnosis (DMRD), obstetrics & gynecology (DGO) and in paediatrics (DCH). Post graduate courses in furthermore departments are to be announced soon. The college is situated on the foot of "dalma hills" nearly 6 kilometres from the town of jamshedpur, in a locality named dimna. The NH-33 separates the town from the college. nearly 2 kilometres away is the breathtaking dimna lake.
