Mathematics scores obtained in class XII results will be considered for admission procedure for students who want to pursue studies in colleges in subjects like mathematics (honors), B.Com (H), BA economics (H), B. Sc (H) in statistics, electronics, computer, physical science & applied physical science. Colleges like Daulat Ram, Hindu & Hans Raj colleges have made it mandatory to possess score 90% & above to apply for mathematics (H).
Indraprastha & Kamala Nehru colleges demand at least 80% in mathematics to pursue studies in economics (H). The eligibility criterion to get admission for BSc statistics (H) in Kirori Mal College is to get 90% in mathematics. P C Jain, principal of Shri Ram College of Commerce stated that, good scores in mathematics & english at the class XII helps in the long run.
Gurpreet Singh Tuteja , deputy dean of students’ welfare & mathematics teacher at Zakir Husain College revealed that, students of mathematics background outshine in subjects related to physical science as it needs right application of mathematical tools & computational abilities. Mathematics has a crucial role in statistical & quantitative analysis. English is another compulsory subject to submit application for most of these subjects.
