Delhi Technological University (DTU), formerly Delhi College of Engineering, has completed its first part of online admission registration process. The registration process which began on June 7, 2011 ended with 10818 candidate s registering for 1218 BTech seats in 15 disciplines. The registrations this year are approximately 25% higher as last year 8685 candidates have applied for admissions.
This year the entire process of admission is online at DTU admission website www.dtuadmissions.nic.in. Under this online system all admissions will be made on the basis of merit in AIEEE 2011. All those who have registered for admission shall be allowed to submit their choice online. A candidate can submit as many as 15 choices in the order of his preference. The online choice submission shall commence on the above website from June 23 and shall continue till June 29.
During this period, all those who have registered up to June 15 shall be allowed to submit their online admission form along with their preferences for BTech disciplines from June 23 to 29. The candidates will not be allowed to change the course of their choice. All admissions will be based purely on merit ranks in AIEEE 2011 so long as the candidates satisfy the other eligibility conditions. The first list of admission shall be declared on July 5 on the website and the successful candidates shall be able to download their admission letter. The successful candidates are required to report for admission at DTU campus on July 6 and 7 for Delhi General, July 8 for Delhi (SC/ST/OBC/KM/SG), 2011, July 9 for outside Delhi. Admissions to PH and CW (Defence) category candidates shall be on July 9. Others will be considered for the second list of allotment which shall be declared on July 15. Subsequent list shall be brought out if vacancies still persist.

As far as the admissions to NRI / PIO / foreign nationals are concerned these are made on the basis of marks obtained in SAT - II. The candidates in this category have to satisfy other eligibility conditions. The admission form and other details for such admissions are given on DTU Website www.dce.edu. The last date for submission of forms for NRI / PIO / Foreign Nationals is 30th “DTU continues to be a highly sought after technological university in India for admissions to its UG and PG programs. New batch of 390 aspiring achievers join the Institute
XLRI Jamshedpur, one of the top B Schools in India, announced commencement of the new academic year 2011. A total of 390 students drawn from the following programmes: Business Management, Human Resource Management, General Management Programme, FPM (Fellow Programme in Management) and EFPM (Executive Fellow Programme in Management) joined the XLRI student fraternity. The new batch of students are from diverse backgrounds: engineering, arts, science, commerce and medicine.
The fresher students will take part in a special Orientation Programme which has been outlined to refresh their knowledge base before regular classes commence. A unique feature in the first term will be the Village Exposure Programme as well as the Tata Steel Adventure Programme. Both the programmes have been drawn up to sensitise students to the tough life in rural India, whilst inculcating values of team spirit, fellow feeling, etc.
