EAMCET -2013 will be held on Friday in 534 test centres for engineering and 201 test centres for agriculture and medicine, officials said. As many as 3.96 lakh students are appearing for the examination for admission to engineering and medical colleges in the state. All the venues will have tight security to prevent malpractice, EAMCET officials said on the eve of the examination.
Candidates will be frisked before they enter the examination centres and EAMCET officials are planning to install jammers in 30 problematic centres. EAMCET officials are collaborating with the state police to conduct the examination without any glitches.
EAMCET officials said the candidates will be allowed to enter the examination hall at 9.15am for engineering and at 1.45pm for agriculture and medical entrance test. "Candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination hall once the test commences at 10.00am for engineering and 2.30pm for agriculture and medicine," said N V Ramana Rao, convener, EAMCET. Candidates will have to stay at the venue till the end of the examination.
Calculators, mathematical log tables, cellphones or any other electronic gadgets and loose sheets of paper are strictly prohibited inside the hall.
Extra precautionary measures are being taken as two years ago attempts were made to rig the medical examination using Bluetooth devices.
Candidates will have to affix their color photograph on the application form and submit the same in the examination hall to prevent impersonation. Thumb impression of candidates will also be taken in the examination hall to check impersonation.
