Great joy came in for eight students of National Institute of Technology (NIT) Patna when they were recruited as graduate engineer trainees by the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd through campus interviews. All of them have been selected at an initial package of 9.3 lakh per annum.
Sanjiv Sinha, the NITP placement coordinator, confirmed the name of the students as Rachita Saumya, Prabhakar Sinha, Ankit Dakhne, Shiva Aditya, Saba Zeenat, Rupasha Rani, Vikas, Raman and Sweta Chaudhary.
Rachita is a final year electrical engineering student and the topper of NIT. Earlier also she had shown her caliber when she had won a summer fellowship Indian from reputed Academy of Science and a scholarship from Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC).
Writers’ festival: Ashutosh Kumar, an upcoming writer was invited in 7th International Writers’ Festival to be held in Mumbai on November 26 and 27 by India Inter-Continental Cultural Association. The theme of the festival is "Diaspora literature and universal peace: Contributions of Mahatma Gandhi." Ashutosh attracted media attention when his first novel, ‘The Great Return of Dr. Faustus” was publishe last year.
Award to PU teacher: The prestigious ‘Shiksha Ratna’ award will be bestowed to Shiv Jatan Thakur, English teacher of Patna University. The award will be given by the India International Friendship at a function that will be held in New Delhi this October.
