All India Entrance Tests for Central University Dharamsala this year
The Central University of Himachal Pradesh at Dharamsala which have started academic work last year, is adding 12 new courses in the PG programs and 5 new courses in the RD research area. With the inclusion of these programmes the total no of courses shall be 18 in PG and 13 in RD (research Department) .This shall include areas of MBA(Marketing, Finance, HRM, Operational Management, Sectoral Specialization, Entrepreneurship Development, Financial Markets, Insurance, International Business, IT and Tourism and Travel Management), Mathematics, Computer Sciences, Library Sciences, Economics and Public Policy, Social Work, English and foreign Languages, Environmental Studies, Teacher's Training, Physics and Astronomical Sciences, Computational biology/Bio-Informatics, Mass communication and Electronics Media, journalism and Visual Arts.
From This year the there shall be all India entrance test for PG programes, under the name of FEAT and for RD programes under the Name of Treat. Feat shall be Conducted on 29 May 2011 and Treat on 12 November 2011 at Dharamsala, Delhi and Hyderabad. The admission forms can also be down loaded from University's site and can be submitted on line before 30th april 2011.
Giving this information to media on Wednesday at Dharamsala , the VC of Central University of Himachal Pradesh Prof FurQan Quamer, said that around 750 students shall be selected on the basis of these 2 entrance examinations this year. He said that around 200 students were admitted last year on merit basis to start the university academic programme.
He said " University is appointing 78 more teacher to make the strength this year to 126. He said that though he wanted to launch academic programmes only after the university had all the physical facilities, infrastructure and intellectual resources were put in place, there have been suggestions from the large number of experts and potential students to launch some of the academic programmes from temporary campuses, so we have started in a small way from last academic sesson." Efforts are also being made to arrange limited residential facilities for the students and faculty of the university, he added.
He said that more than 1000 acre land has been cleared by the different agencies of the Himachal State government for the setting up University campus, and just after the green signal from Ministry of Forest, the construction work of this new university shall start at Dharamsala and Dehra in Kangra District. He said that Medical, Engineering, Physical Sciences Life sciences etc shall be established in Beas Capmus Dehra and Administration, Humanities, Social Sciences and Fine arts faculties shall be set up in Dhouladhar Campus Dharamsala.
