  • Taking cognizance into the allegations that dalit children are deprived of their right to education, the Allahabad high court on Thursday summoned the Basic Shiksha Adhikari (basic education officer), Allahabad on August 3, 2011 in person in the court.

Acting on a PIL filed by law students, a bench consisting of Justice Imtiyaz Murtaza and Justice Rajesh Chandra passed this order.
In the PIL, it has been alleged that children of Champapur village under Pratappur block in district Allahabad are completely deprived of their right to education. Only their names have been enrolled, but they have not been provided free uniform, books, copies and mid-day meal.
