The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to postpone the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) to 2013-14. CBSE announced this decision on Monday. The decision has been taken as several states were seeking exemption from the common entrance test for under graduate medical courses.
According to a CBSE release, “As per communication received from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare regarding seeking permission from the Supreme Court to allow introduction of NEET for Under Graduate Medical Courses from the academic year 2013-14 instead of 2012-13, it would now conduct the All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination only for the 15 per cent of all-India quota seats.”
The All India Pre-medical/Dental Preliminary examination is scheduled to be conducted on April 1, 2012 and the main examnation is scheduled to be conducted on May 13, 2012.
All the aspects of this examination whether they are eligibility conditions or syllabus or exam pattern or exam centres etc will be same as of AIPMT last year examination.
The CBSE release said, “The schedule for the submission of application forms would be shortly communicated.”
