Releasing the notification for CMAT January 2016, AICTE has informed that the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) will no longer be held twice in a year, instead it will be a yearly test. MBA already updated the CMAT aspirants on the policy change of AICTE regarding the once a year CMAT in place of twice a year CMAT.
CMAT January 2016 will remain an online exam for admission to AICTE approved MBA/ PGDM courses 2016-18 batch across the country.
It is expected that there could be structural and content based changes in CMAT 2016 proposed to be held in the month of January 2016 by AICTE.
Since the CMAT January 2016 will remain valid for admission to AICTE approved management programmes in the academic year 2016-17, the candidates who were planning to appear in CMAT September 2015 shall have to register and apply for CMAT January 2016.

Yearly CMAT: Loss of one opportunity
Earlier there used to be 2 CMAT exams for admission to AICTE approved PGDM/MBA courses in the coming academic session. The first CMAT used to be held in September and the second in the month of coming February regularly. Now with effect from academic year 2016-17 CMAT has become a yearly event, it may not be possible for the aspirants to get an opportunity to improve their scores in next CMAT as the scores will remain valid only for one academic session.
CMAT: Gateway to 400 B schools
CMAT scores are accepted by around 400+ B schools running AICTE approved management programmes in India. It is the 2nd largest MBA/PGDM entrance test after CAT in the country. Management institutes affiliated to Universities in thirteen states of Chhatisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Nagaland, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh and other private B schools approved by AICTE accept the CMAT scores.
