The result of higher secondary board examination of Chennai Board will be declared on May 22. Approximately 7.06 lakh students appeared in the board examination in March this year.
The publication process of the result got delayed as evaluation procedure started late.
The class 12 board examinations continued from March 8 to March 30. According to teachers of Higher secondary schools, the evaluation process for technical subjects are continuing at a slow rate. Evaluation of the main subjects have been completed a couple of days ago.
The setback in announcing the result will affect the counseling dates of medical & engineering. Even the admission procedures of arts & science colleges will be delayed for this reason. According to a city correspondence, students who are looking for admission in colleges in other states, will go through lots of problems as they will receive their mark sheets of class 12 about two weeks later.
It is expected by many school authorities that in this year students have to wait for long period to receive their mark sheets as some features like a quick response code & a photograph of candidate in mark sheets have been introduced by the state government for the purpose of checking falsification in examinations.
It is expected that the declaration of class 10 examinations will also get delayed for this reason. Probably it will be announced on the first week of June. This year class 10 board examinations were put off to the first week of April as schools were given time to complete their syllabus & hold revision tests.
