Admissions * Most B Com (Hons) seats in SRCC taken, Kirori Mal matches cut-off
Despite the high cut-offs in the first list for admission to Delhi University, students made a beeline to colleges on Thursday, filling seats in the courses of choice.
At the Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), where the 100 per cent cut-off for non-commerce students had sparked a row, only 15 seats remained in the B Com (Hons) course at the end of the first day of admission while 11 were left in Economics (Hons) at the end of the first day of admission.
“Out of 252 seats for the B Com (Hons) course, 237 were filled today and out of 62 seats in the Economic (Hons) course, 51 were filled,” SRCC principal Dr P C Jain said. “This proves that our cut-offs were not so unrealistic.”
University officials sought to reassure students that reasonable cut-off percentages are expected by the third list and that the high numbers were limited to only a few courses.
