DMER to release the details of six unaided colleges on Friday

  • The unoccupied medical and dental seats in six unaided colleges which are vacant since September 20 after some of their candidates did not report or cancelled their admission will be filled soon after the state Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER) will release the details of these colleges.

    The admission process started on July 19 with the release of the first list of selection. The admission process will finally get over soon as the cut-off date for all the medical and dental admissions is decided on September 30.

    DMER has issued a notice regarding this which states, “Only those seats, which fall vacant at the six unaided colleges shall be filled category wise by the respective colleges as per the Maharashtra Health and Technology - Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET) 2011 rules.”

    The six unaided colleges include; Maharashtra Institute of Medical Education and Research's (MIMER) medical college at Talegaon Dabhande, Pune; Kashibai Navale medical college, Narhe, Pune; Sinhgad dental college, Sinhgad road, Pune; K J Somaiyya medical college, Sion, Mumbai; Maharashtra Institute of Medical Sciences and Research's (MIMSR) medical college, Vishwanathpuram, Latur and MIDSR dental college, Latur.

    The notification further states, “College-wise vacancy position will be posted on the DMER's official website: on September 23. Candidates desirous of admission at either of these colleges will have to apply to the respective colleges on plain paper with MHT-CET 2011 mark sheet and photocopies of all relevant documents, between September 23 and 25.”

    The deans or principals of the respective colleges will put on the selection and merit list of all the candidates on the college notice board on September 26 at 11 am. The last date for candidates to join the college is September 28. All the candidates should report with all original, relevant documents, certificates and prescribed fees at noon on September 29.
