Unicef said that the generosity and commitment of donors at the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation (GAVI) replenishment conference, where the total funding pledged amounted to US$ 4.3 billion, shows signs of positive future for children. “The outcome of this pledging conference is exciting and tremendous news, which will save millions of lives of the most threatened children around the world. And Unicef renews its pledge to redouble our own efforts to help governments and other partners deliver vaccines to the hardest to reach children,” said Anthony Lake, executive director, Unicef. The Unicef is a founding member of GAVI. It supplies nearly 60% of the world’s children with vaccines.
