Gujarat University: 3,000 forms filled for undergraduate courses

  • Around 3,000 applicants have filled GU application forms in initial two days of admissions to first-year Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Computer Administration and five-year integrated MSCIT courses.

    Admissions started on May 18. The college got around 35,000 admission forms against the 50,000 application forms printed a year ago. The officials said that last year nearly 37,000 forms were filled and subsequently the college got just 35,000 application forms printed for the current year.

    University officials said hopefuls will need to fill at least 15 choices of college in the application form. "On the off chance that a hopeful doesn't give 15 decisions, his form won't be acknowledged by the system," said vice chancellor M N Patel.

    He further said that there are 71 universities with an ability to concede 71,000 candidates. In view of the achievement of these methods, Gujarat University will likewise execute them for Master of Commerce admissions.

    Patel said there will be no separate sports quota reserved, however the college will offer priority to hopefuls who have represented to the state or locale at the national level or at state-level sports competitions.

    The vice chancellor said that since hopefuls submit mistakes in filling forms, GU has chosen to compose incubation centers at 10 colleges in the city. The main center will be at GU senate corridor on Thursday. Patel said that the first allocation of seats will be done on June 26, and hopefuls will be informed through SMS about their admission. The second merit list will be proclaimed on July 5, he said.

    Authorities said academic studies for the first year will start from July 1, while second and third year studies will start from June 15.
