  • MAT, that is, Management Aptitude Test, is relatively an easier entrance examination when we see other examinations such as CAT, XAT, etc. Due to this fact, many students do not take MAT much seriously and consequently, perform badly in the entrance test. You must always keep other options open and take them seriously because at the end, you can compromise a little with your college but should never compromise with your interest. The reason for this is interest in a particular field invokes passion in you and passion is a way which leads you towards your success.

One of the most common problems that students face while preparing for MBA entrance examinations is how to cope up with the preparations of so many examinations at the same time. You need not to worry for this as the pattern of MAT is broadly similar to that of CAT and you need not to do prepare separately for them. Here are some of the ways which would help you in your preparation of MAT.

    ·         Make a time-table: While preparing for MAT, it is highly important for you to make a proper time-table according to the various sections that come in MAT. Give different time slot to each section, namely, Language Comprehension, Mathematical skills, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning and Indian and Global environment. This would not only lead you towards systematic preparation of MAT but also of other examinations like CAT.

Identify your key weaknesses: It is very important for you to identify your key weaknesses and work on them particularly. To work on your weaknesses is relevant because weaknesses become the major drawback while you give your entrance test.

Improve your vocabulary: You must concentrate on your vocabulary as it is the one of the toughest sections in any MBA entrance examination. The best way to improve your vocabulary is learn five new words everyday and try to apply them in your practice of writing and talking because without practicing the words you tend to forget the word soon and would not be able to understand when it will get used in some sentence.

Practice a lot: Practice always makes a man perfect. Thus, the best way to score fairly well in MAT is practice. Pick up the old question papers and sample papers and try to solve them in the time span of 2.5 hours which is usually the time span in MAT. This would help you in improving your errors, will help you in managing your time in a better way and would also make you familiar with the type of questions that come in MAT.

In the conclusion, seeing the high competition of getting into MBA, it is very significant for you to take these points seriously and follow them sincerely. A systematic approach towards studies is always more beneficial. Studying without any systematic approach in mind often proves to be futile.
