The subjects like Economics & B.Com (Honors) taught in Delhi University have immense popularity for their high market value. DU’s economics faculty stated that candidates should possess an analytical mind & logical way of thinking in order to complete course on economics successfully.
On the previous year, cutoffs at majority of colleges for this course was 90% & above. Jaswinder Singh, principal of SGTB Khalsa College & a teacher of economics said that, the cutoffs for economics will remain always high due to the arrival of a number of high scorers while the number of seats remains the same.
Total 35 colleges under DU provide this course. One should obtain an aggregate of 80-95% score to get admission for this course. It is quite difficult to get a seat in renowned colleges. Students from any stream can apply for this course. But many colleges have included mathematics as eligibility condition. The reason of it is that the new syllabus needs utilization of mathematical concepts, compilation & analysis of data.
