A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Singapore Management University (SMU) & Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM-B) to promote research & education in management field. This MoU will assist in all types of research related works like research project & organizing research seminars of these two institutes. Both of them will also attract doctoral students & junior faculty to take part in summer institutes or winter institutes arranged by them. The MoU will also involve in activities like joint executive education, exchange of faculty & dissemination of graduate students between the two institutes.
According to Rajendra K Srivastava , SMU’s deputy president of academic affairs , conversion of global economic setting has become possible due to the appearance of many Asian nations with India & China in leading positions. Therefore, it is expected that IIMB-SMU association will play a significant part in the development of Bangalore – Singapore educational & commercial league.
Pankaj Chandra, director of IIM Bangalore stated that IIMB’s plan is to turn itself into a leading research school in India. The cooperation of SMU in this effort will provide a boost. It will spread research & teaching scope in South-East Asia. Thus it will create educational opportunity across the world for its students & faculty.
