The academic senate of IIT Kanpur has taken decision about not to be a part of the common entrance test (CET) for all IITs, NITs & IIITs & to conduct its own entrance test in 2013. This decision goes against the ruling of HRD ministry to hold a common test. This declaration of them came when the alumni of IIT are taking preparation to move court against CET & it was expected that the other IITs too may follow the suit. The pressure on students will rise if all these institutions go for separate examination system.
The strategy regarding separate examination has been taken in a meeting of June 8 & it was presided by S G Dhande, director & academic senate chairman. More than 60 faculty members of IIT Kanpur lend their support for this decision.
