Recently, Rajesh Tope, the Minister of higher and technical education and industrialist Mukesh Ambani were present at the second convocation event of the institute of Chemical Technology, Matunga earlier known as UDCT. Rajesh Tope was the guest of honor and Ambani was the chief guest at the event.
Rajesh Tope in his speech said that industrialist Mukesh Ambani had plans of setting up an institute along the lines of Harvard University in Maharashtra. Explaining further, he told, that Ambani said he would set up a replica of Harvard University. And that he’s even ready with the infrastructure of twenty tow departments.
However, this project can be brought about only when the Private Universities Bill or Self-finance Bill is passed. But since the bill has already been tabled in the assembly, there are hopes for it to get through anytime. Though the bill is facing some issues about reservation, still there are full chances for this act to be implemented soon. Also, Tope added that land for the expansion of ICT to set up satellite campus will be allotted by the State.
