The registrations in The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai, have begun for admissions into regular full-time post-graduate courses for the batch 2012-14.
TISS is one of the most prestigious institutes of higher learning and research. It is a deemed university and is approved by University Grants Commission. The institute offers 24 post-graduate courses in all which are mostly of social significance.
The courses include, MA social work — community organisation and development practice, criminology and justice, women-centred practice, children and families, public health, mental health, Dalit and tribal studies, livelihood and entrepreneurship, disability studies and action. MA development Studies; education (elementary), counselling, women studies, human resources management and labour relations, social entrepreneurship, globalisation and labour, media and cultural studies, and social work in rural development.
There are some other courses as well which are, Master of Health Administration, Master of Hospital Administration, Master of Public Health in Social Epidemiology, Master of Public Health in Health Policy, Economics & Finance and MA/ MSc – Habitat Policy and Practice; Disaster Management.
The entrance test is scheduled for December 4, 2011.
