The engineering aspirants must buck up now as the dates of the most difficult and awaited paper of the year, Indian Institute of technology- Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE), 2012 are out.
There are two ways of applying for registration, online and offline. The registration process for candidates who want to apply online will take place from 31 October 2011- 10 December 2011. The application fee for candidates registering online is Rs 1, 600 (for male GE/OBC), Rs 800 (for male SC/ST/PD) and NIL (for female). The process of registration will be mentioned on the IIT website on which the candidate will register.
The sale of OMR application forms will commence on 11 November 2011 and will end on 5 December 2011. The candidates can obtain the form from the selected branches of Union Bank of India, State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, Canara Bank and Axis Bank. The application fee would be Rs 1, 800 (for male GE/OBC), Rs 1, 000 (for male SC/ST/PD) and NIL (for female).
All the completed offline or printed copy of the online application form should reach the IITs on or before 15 December 2011. However, the candidates registering online can also submit the form online against the payment of the application fee.
The examination of IIT-JEE is scheduled to be conducted on 8 April 2012. There will be two papers in total of 3 hours duration each. The first paper will be from 09:00 to 12:00 hrs and the second paper will be from 14:00 to 17:00 hrs. Both the question papers will consist objective type questions on three sections, namely, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The candidate will have the option of having the question paper either in English or Hindi.
