    Fellowship Programme, which is a Fulbright programme, brings accomplished mid-level professionals from developing countries to the US for 10 months of non-degree graduate study and related practical professional experiences. The fellowships are awarded in certain fields as given in the notification on The fellowship provides tuition and fees, a monthly maintenance allowance, accident and sickness programme for exchanges as per US government guidelines, a modest allowance for books and supplies, round- trip international air travel to the host institution, domestic travel to the Washington DC workshop and allowances for professional activities such as field trips, professional visits, and conferences. Requirements: Preferably have a Master’s degree or a professional degree of at least four years’ duration; have at least five years of substantial professional experience in the respective field and be eligible for leave; have demonstrated leadership qualities; have a record of public service in the community; and give an undertaking to return to India on the completion of the fellowship. Candidates should demonstrate the required experience, skills, and commitment while also indicating how they can benefit from this programme in ways that they have not experienced previously and are not likely to experience without the Humphrey programme. Candidates should be proficient in both written and spoken English and will be required to take the internet-based test (iBT) of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).     The visiting lecturer fellowships for four months are designed for Indian faculty, researchers and professionals. Priority fields are, agricultural sciences; economics; education; energy, sustainable development and climate change; environment; international relations; management and leadership development; media and communications with focus on public service broadcasting; public administration; public health; science and technology; study of India with focus on contemporary issues; and study of the US. For study of India or the study of the United States (American studies) the areas could include: language and literature, history, government, economics, society and culture, religion, and film studies. The recipient will be affiliated as a visiting scholar at a US college, university or research institution, and will teach courses (individually or team-teach), or offer a series of seminars at the US host institution. The fellowships provide round-trip economy class air travel from India to the US, a monthly stipend, accident and sickness programme for exchanges as per US government guidelines, modest settling-in allowance and a professional allowance. No allowance or travel is provided for dependents and the stipend provided under the grant is not sufficient to support family members. Requirements: Applicants should be familiar with the US educational system. Indian faculty/researchers should have a PhD degree or equivalent published work with at least five years of college/university level teaching experience; professionals outside academe should have a PhD degree or equivalent published work with recognised professional standing and at least five years relevant experience; if employed, applications should be routed through proper channel; and preferably be 50 years of age or under.
