It has finally happened. Delhi University’s first cutoff list for the year 2011 is out, confirming everyone’s nightmare – Shri Ram College of Commerce has given the cut off for BCom (Hons) as 100%. So, freshers with 99%, your worst fears have come true! We bring you the anger, anxiety and disappointment of this year’s DU seekers and their family.

    Pinch Yourself, It’s Real

“The first cutoff list was a freaking joke and figures like 99.5% are damn unattainable. Plus, the cutoffs of colleges like Venky and Kamala Nehru are equal to that of SRCC. It is just getting bizarre now” – Arushi Dixit, fresher

“The system has increased the number of seats in colleges, but for whom? SRCC’s cutoff is unrealistic and unimaginable.” –Tanaya Gupta, sister of a fresher

“They are asking for 100%! How’s it humanly possible? We are human beings, and we commit errors. You can’t expect students to get 100 on 100 in every subject.” –Ashu Gupta, mother of a fresher

“Though it’s disappointing for the commerce students, we humanities students are happy with it. I have cleared for almost all colleges.” –Aishwaya Yadav, fresher

    The 100% Stress Story

“The rising cutoffs are a huge source of stress. I mean 100% was not expected! Delhi University should try and fix a more reality based cutoff to keep the enthusiasm building thereby avoiding frustration and stress for the students who are about to enter DU.” –Ananya Sharma, fresher

“It’s unfortunate to be a part of this year’s batch. Even if you have given your best, it isn’t enough for a college like SRCC. Like there’s no scope for error! I still can’t believe it’s real.”
