The Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar-Academy of Third World Studies (MMAJ-ATWS), Jamia Millia Islamia was conceived as an interdisciplinary centre for research on problems confronting the ‘Third World Countries.’ The MMAJ-ATWS has developed new courses on human rights, Pakistan studies, multiculturalism, sustainable development, globalisation and the central Asia, and human rights. In the last two years, it has also started new programmes on Bangladesh studies and north-east studies. The MMAJATWS has emerged as a well-known centre for international studies specialising in third world issues. The MMAJ-ATWS offers an MPhil programme, a diploma in Uzbek and certificate courses in Uzbek and Kyrgyz. The last date for submission of application forms for admission to these courses is June 7, while the date of entrance test is scheduled for June 23. For further information, log on to jmi.ac.in.
