Times NIE launches a programme to increase health awareness among school children

  • With a view to increase health awareness among school children, Times NIE has launched a nationwide programme to make school children understand the significance of taking regular healthy diet. The programme, ‘Times NIE Healthy Mind, Healthy Body’ is sponsored by Tupperware. In the programme, various contests in the 'Student Edition' of The Times of India and regular articles on a healthy food plan for growing children will be conducted.

    Actors Tisca Chopra and Cyrus Sahukar, after inaugurating the event spoke to the readers of Times NIE about the need for young children to develop healthy eating habits right from the starting.

    According to Anshu Bagai, marketing director of Tupperware, "Today, students are exposed to stress right from an early age. In such an environment it becomes difficult for them to take time out for their health."

    Various healthcare workshops and quizzes will be conducted under the programme. Also, health booklets will be distributed among selected schools all over India.   Students and teachers from Christchurch School, Cumballa Hill High School, Villa Theresa High School and G D Somani School were part of the audience for the launch of this year's activities.
