    Which is the best engineering college in Delhi? Where I will get the high quality education at low overhead charges? Is my chosen institute sufficient enough to help me get placed once I will complete my engineering degree? Many of such queries start coming on your mind when you complete your 12th and plan to join an engineering college. Although the capital houses a number of top notch engineering institutes/colleges, a huge flock move towards DTU and IP universities because of several reasons. To know which one is better between the two, take a look at the comparative analysis given below:  

    Delhi Technical University Admission 2017

    Eligibility Criteria

    The All India rank prepared by CBSE help students apply for the Institutions/Universities in Delhi. They provide 40% weightage to class 12th (or any other equivalent examination) marks and 60% to those who have scored good marks in Paper – 1 of JEE (Main) 2017 Examination. If you want to apply for B. Arch. Course, then it is must to clear the Paper-2 of JEE (Main) 2016 Examination. Bonus marks have already been announced in Annexure 1 of the Information Brochure for IIITD.

    A Region

    a) 85% seats are reserved for the Delhi Region Candidates, who can apply for under the category of Delhi Region Only if they have passed out the qualifying examination from an authorized or certified school/institute/college which maintains its presence within the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi.

    b) 15% of seats are reserved for the outside Delhi Region Candidates, who can apply under the category of the Outside Delhi Region only if they passed out the qualifying examination from an authorized or certified school/institute/college which maintains its presence outside the National Capital Territory of Delhi.

    Important Note: The center of examination will decide which region a candidate belongs to in case if he or she cleared out the qualifying exam through National Institute of Open School, Delhi (NIOS) or Patrachar Vidyalaya, Delhi. We can also clarify this point in a way that if the N.C.T. of Delhi will be a place where examination is conducted, then the candidate shall be counted under the Delhi Region. However, if the examination is conducted outside N.C.T of Delhi, then he or she will be come under the category of the Outside Delhi Region.

    B. Any of the following examinations is considered to be a qualifying examination for admission to all the participating institutions/universities.

    a) The 12-year course (Indian School Certificate Examination) of the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi.

    b) The 12-year course (Senior School Certificate Examination) of the C.B.S.E., also known as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi.

    c) Any other examination which is known to be as equivalent to the Senior School Certificate Examination of the C.B.S.E Board.

    Participating Institute/Universities, Nomenclature and Duration of the Course:

    A) Delhi Technological University (DTU) –Candidates have to give their 4 Years in order to get a degree of B.Tech.  

    B) Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-D) – Same as mentioned above - B. Tech. 4 Years

    C) Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW) - (Here female candidates can apply only) - B. Tech. 4 Years, B. Arch. 5 Years

    4) Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (NSIT) - B. E. 4 Years

    Annual Fee Structure:

    DTU- 1st Year Fees- Total fees would be of Rs. 1, 26, 000/ - (Candidates have to submit an amount of Rs 75,000 at the time of Admission)

    He or she can pay the rest of the amount i.e. Rs. 51,000/- at the time of Registration for First Semester.

    Here is the Fee Structure for DTU for the remaining three years of B. Tech. Courses:

    II Year : Rs. 1,38,000/-, III Year : Rs. 1,51,000/-, IV Year : Rs. 1,66,000/-

    IGDTUW B. Tech.: Rs. 75,000/- Per Annum B. Arch.: Rs. 90,000/- Per Annum

    IP University Admission 2017

    Eligibility Criteria:

    Passing in the 12th class examination set by CBSE or equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 55% in Mathematics Chemistry and Physics. Securing the passing marks in each subject separately is mandatory for each candidate who wants to apply for admission in the university. The qualifying examination also states that English must be a major subject of the candidate’s course (elective/core/functional).

    Admissions Criteria:

    Appearing in CET is must for all candidates. In this regard, securing a place in the merit/rank in the CET will be a key factor when it comes to looking for the admissions in such institution.

    IP University Fee Structure:

    INR 63,250 Per Annum in Guru Premsukh Memorial College of Engineering, Karnal Road, Delhi

    INR 79,062 Per Annum in Bharati Vidyapeeth’s College of Engineering, Paschim Vihar, Delhi

    INR 75,900 per Annum in Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology, Rajouri Garden, New Delhi

    INR 69,000 per Annum in Amity School of Engineering & Technology, Palam Vihar, Delhi

    INR 86,250 per Annum in Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology, Rohini, Delhi
