  • How to apply for MBBS in AFMC Pune

This content is related to AFMC medical exam. A complete explanation from registration to selection process. AFMC, Armed Force Medical College is one the best best college(in TOP 10) in INDIA. The selection process is completely different from NEET.

Students interested in AFMC must register on it's official website of Afc after applying NEET form.

The AFMC registration can be done in the 1st week of May to the end of month.

Once candidate did registration on AFMC website now he is eligible for AFMC counselling after the NEET exam result. The qualified candidate can now apply for registration in 15% quota of ALL INDIA COUNSELLING conducted by www.mcc.nic.in

Once the candidate register for counselling he will have to wait for merit list prepared by AFMC examination board.

As the total number of seats available in AFMC

    For boys- 105
    For girls- 25
    Foreign Nationals- 5

So the expected cut off went high

    For BOYS- 570+
    For Girls-600+

So according to marks merit list of approx. 1000 candidate is prepared by AFMC board and all those shortlisted candidate will now be eligible for 2nd round of test which will be conducted by AFMC board itself.

    A. TOELR- Test of comprehension and English language with logical and reasoning (TOTAL-80 MARKS TEST). It is online test of 30 min. It contains  40 question based on English and reasoning each correct question carries 2 marks and for incorrect answer 0.5 marks will be deducted.

    B. PAT- Psychological aptitude test. This test is also conducted online to check the brain power or students IQ level. Question are given on screen with audio so your answer will decide your IQ ability. This test do not carries any marks.

    C. Interview- Conducted by AFMC board. A pannel will sit in front of you take your interview, this interview is very important as it carries 50 marks.

    D. Health Checkup- Here full body check up is done by a series of army doctors which includes ENT, MEDICINE, SURGEON, Samples of blood and urine are collected for all types of check up, a student will have to pass from X-ray and ultrasound also to give the proof that they are medically fit.

After the health check up done merit list is prepared on adding all marks including NEET.

AFMC prepare merit list out of 250 marks

Lets see how merit list is prepared:-

    NEET TOTAL MARKS-720

    TOELR TEST-80

Now here both marks are added and divided by 4, so by adding it becomes 800 and by dividing 800/4= 200 marks

Now, Afmc Marks is 200 and Interview marks were 50 so adding both it becomes 250.

So AFMC merit list is prepared in out of 250 marks.

Now understand how candidate marks is calculated-

Let Amit be a student who scored 580 marks in NEET out of 720.

And Amit also scored 40 marks in TOELR test conducted by AFMC.

So on adding both marks of Amit it will become 620. Now 620 will be divided by 4 then it becomes 155 marks.

Now, Amit marks is 155 in Afmc out of 200.

After that Amit scored 30 marks in interview and his total marks now becomes 185 out of 250 marks.

So merit list of Amit will be prepared on 185 marks and if he is in top 200 then his name will be in final merit list of admission.

So in this way AFMC conducts exam and prepared merit list out of 1000 shortlisted candidate. 1st 130 candidate are called for admission and waiting list is also prepared. Any candidate failed to report from 1st list waiting list will get confirmed.

While taking the admission candidate need to sign agreement that after passing from college he will not be joining any private college, private hospitals or open his clinic to run the practice.

The course Duration is 4.5 years and 1 year of internship as commissioned officer.
