The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has recently come up with a new Framework which would be responsible for helping to rank top institutes in India. This decision is actually a result of making a place in global ranking by one of the most popular Indian Institutes. Earlier the ranking of management and engineering institutes of India had been decided by several private agencies of the country. Even these agencies ranking been biased and often been in news for bad reasons. So, there had been a huge demand of transparent ranking system for management and engineering colleges of the country.
Known as the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), this methodology now will be liable for ranking Indian institutes all across the country. The ranking of higher education institutions had been decided with the help of this methodology in April 2016. The primary motto of this framework is to create a platform where the regular improvement in the level of education could be made in order to incite Indian institutions towards a competitive environment.
Impact of NIRF Engineering College Ranking on Education
According to Smriti Irani, who was an education minister at that time, all the sincere efforts were made in this regard with a purpose of improving the standing of the Indian institutions at global level. She also affirmed that this authentic, transparent, and a trustworthy ranking system will help to enhance the quality of education in higher institutions of the country.
The Ranking of Institutes for Higher Education will surely come up with making an impeccable impact on the level of education positively. Yes, this will be responsible for bringing a quality education to students in engineering and management colleges.

Inclusivity, Outreach, Outcomes, Graduation, Perception, Collaborative Performance Professional Practices, Research, Resources, Learning and Teaching are a major part of the parameters which will help NIRF Framework to rank Indian Institutes of the country. There could be no denying to this fact that if the system works in a proper way, then students will surely get the huge support from it when it comes to spotting out the right institute or college for admissions. Institutes also keep investing right kind of efforts to maintain their position in the ranking.
Top 10 Indian Institutes That Made It to the List Released in April 2017
According to this release which came in the month of April 2017, IISc, Bangalore tops the list of universities/colleges second time in a row.
If we talk about the last year, all 122 centrally-funded institutions/colleges - including IIMs, IITs and central universities - appeared in the first round of ranking.
